The recommended dosage depends on the application:

  • Industrial floors: 20–30 kg/m³
  • Tunnel shotcrete: 25–40 kg/m³
  • Bridge decks and pavements: 30–40 kg/m³
  • UHPC/RPC: 2–6% by volume (depending on design strength)

We can provide project-specific dosage recommendations based on required performance.

02

Will steel fibers replace traditional rebar or welded mesh?

In many cases—yes.

Hooked-end and macro steel fibers can partially or completely replace:

  • Welded wire mesh
  • Distribution reinforcement
  • Crack control steel

It depends on engineering requirements. Many pavement and flooring projects have already replaced mesh with fibers to reduce cost and improve crack resistance.

03

How do steel fibers improve crack resistance?

Steel fibers create a 3D reinforcement network that:

  • Bridges microcracks
  • Controls shrinkage cracking
  • Increases post-crack load-carrying capacity
  • Prevents early-age plastic cracking

This dramatically improves toughness and long-term stability.

04

Will steel fibers cause rust or corrosion in concrete?

Nei. Concrete forms a strong alkaline environment (pH > 12) that protects carbon steel fibers from corrosion.

For extreme environments (marine exposure, high chloride levels), stainless steel fibers are recommended.

05

What is the difference between loose and glued steel fibers?

Loose Hooked-End Fibers:

  • Best anchorage performance
  • Ideal for industrial floors, pavements, bridges

Glued Hooked-End Fibers:

  • Bundled with a water-soluble adhesive
  • Break apart instantly during mixing
  • Best for batching plants and large-scale pours
