Advanced cement-based solutions for professional tile installation
Tile adhesive, also called tile bond, is a specially formulated mixture made from cement, sand, limestone, and performance-enhancing additives. It is widely used to fix ceramic, porcelain, or stone tiles onto different surfaces such as cement, concrete, or gypsum boards.
Unlike traditional sand-cement mortar, modern cement-based tile adhesive offers better bonding strength, workability, and durability. This is mainly due to the inclusion of cellulose ethers (HPMC) and polymers (RDP), which greatly improve performance.
Tile adhesives are divided into categories based on European standards (EN 12004):
Up to 30 × 30 cm / 12" × 12"
Wall and floor tiling for general indoor applications
Sufficient adhesion for medium-sized tiles
Up to 60 × 60 cm / 24" × 24"
Moisture, heat, cold exposure resistant
Higher bond strength, flexibility, and durability
Performance additives like HPMC (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose) and RDP (Redispersible Polymer Powder) transform cement-based adhesives into high-performance construction materials.
